As the summer winds down into fall we gather the seasons bounty and nourish ourselves. The nights get longer and the days get colder. Bright autumn colors decorate our plates as warm flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg complement seasonal dishes. We gather sweet flavors from the summer and preserve them to last through to the spring. Hot sauces, pickles, applesauces, ciders, and other delicious preserves get stock piled.
